What Happens During Raising Orchid Kids Class
If you are the parent of an Orchid Kid, chances are you alternate between feeling like everything is going to be fine and dandy to feeling like the world is ending and you’ll never figure it out.
You feel isolated and alone and like no one quite understands what you’re experiencing. Even though you’ve tried explaining to your friends and family, they do NOT get it.
Yes?
One of the things that parents who come through our Raising Orchid Kids groups say is that they never realized that other people were experiencing the same struggles with their Orchid Kids that they were.
They had never met anyone else whose children melt down for as long as theirs do.
They had never met anyone else whose children’s behaviors are alarming to friends and family.
They had never met anyone else who struggles just to get out the door.
And they show up at their first Raising Orchids meeting to a Zoom Room FULL of other parents who understand EXACTLY what they’re describing without them even having to explain much at all. They describe the latest “thing” that happened, and look up to find 3-4 other heads nodding in solidarity. Magic.
The parents who come through the course are courageous, strong, and willing advocates for their children. They know that they need different tools than other parents, and they’re willing to spend time and energy learning those tools on behalf of their Orchid Kids (and their whole family).
The changes that result from parents showing up each week and learning their new tools can be pretty dramatic. They can also be subtle. But either way, life at home changes for the better for the families that come through Raising Orchid Kids. Things feel a little more manageable. Parents feel like someone has their back and that they are no longer alone.
I hope you’ll enjoy this video that Jen Dryer and I recorded after one of our recent Raising Orchid Kids classes.
