The other day I had to fill out some paperwork, and I realized -- GASP -- it’s been 10 years since I founded SpeechKids! 

When I started, it was me, my car, one client and some toys in the back seat.

That client made progress and the family was a joy to work with, so I didn’t mind returning phone calls, seeing some more clients, sending out invoices, and following up on administrivia. 

It was overwhelming at times, and also a lot of fun.

Now, together with an amazing team of therapists, hundreds of families whose children have autism, ADHD, language learning disabilities, late talking, expressive and receptive language issues, articulation disorders, and social pragmatic language disorders know what it’s like not to struggle all the time. 

Families with young children know that they are working with a practice that honors and sees their whole child - not just their child’s areas of need. Families know that they are working with a practice that believes in them and their kids. They know what their children are capable of. And they experience more joy and peace in knowing that their children are making progress in their communication every day.

When new clients call, they get to talk to an amazing Practice Manager, who makes sure everyone feels loved and well-supported. 

Parents find practical parenting strategies and a tribe of parents who “get it”, through Toddler Talk and the Raising Orchids online curricula.

One thing that hasn’t changed in ten years is that we put children first, and that’s something I don’t ever plan to change.
